On the Go with Two!

For some reason, Luke now wants to carry two things around the house...he's always wanted to carry something in his hand, but, now he must have two things - one in each hand AND sometimes he tries to carry more than two. He knows where his pacis are so, even though he has one in his mouth, he points to the drawer and asks for another one to carry around. I usually let him...I know, I know...I probably shouldn't. When he rides in his red car, he wants two stuffed animals to ride with him. He sometimes requests to carry his milk in one hand and his juice in the other. No matter what size toy....he wants to carry two and sometimes gets frustrated when he can't hold everything that he wants to. I'm not quite sure why this habit has developed and how long it will last, but for now, he's definitely taking advantage of the TWO hands God gave him! :)

Little side note...I have to watch him because he sometimes throws one of the TWO items that he has away in the trash can. I let him help me throw things away and now he thinks he can throw anything away. He thinks its cool to put his paci in the trash until he realizes he can't get it back and then he's not so happy. :)

I titled this blog post with "on the go" because Luke has taken after me and his daddy - he wants to go, go, go....as soon as I get home from work, he starts pointing to the door because he wants me to take him somewhere - to see the ducks, to the park, for a stroll, or sometimes he just wants to ride in the car and listen to music. Most of the time, I honor his request and we go somewhere for just a little bit.

On the weekends or my days off, he wants to go somewhere as soon as he wakes up...I'm always thinking of somewhere fun we can go to. :)

This week, on Wednesday, I had the day off of work and it was nasty and rainy outside so Luke and I went to the Children's Museum in Winston. Luke loved it! We had a blast! Educators get in free and it was an excellent place for his age..I highly recommend checking it out. Luke and I will go back soon! We plan on visiting this museum as well as taking many other field trips this summer - the zoo (I just bought a membership), the pool (of course), Nature Science Center, Lazy 5 Ranch, Dan Nicholas Park, the local area playgrounds, a trip to Chapel Hill to visit the museum on Franklin Street and to take a nature walk through the gorgeous campus, Discovery Place in Charlotte, and anything else we can find to do. :) I have 10 more weeks of work and the summer fun can begin!!! :)

For now, we can enjoy weekend field trips....for instance, today as soon as Luke wakes up from his nap, we are going to the Itty Bitty Kiddy Festival in Lexington. It's free as long as you bring a non-perishable food item. So...you can look forward to next week's post including some fun facts about our trip to the festival. I will also post some pictures of our new deck next week. I'm going to go take some pictures right now! The whole family (dogs included) are enjoying the bigger space.

Here are the pictures for this week....remember to pay attention to the TWO items that he often carries.....

Getting ready to throw a block....

Making some kind of animal noise...I can't remember which one...
There's his fuzzy ball...Landis brought that back from him when he went to Cincinnati in February...Luke loves it!
There's the push popper. Luke and I love it! Daddy hates it! I love to chase Luke around with it - he laughs and tries to go hide in the corner of his room.

And, now....the pictures I took at the museum....don't you just love that cute little "country boy" flannel shirt....he's adorable....I can't help but say it...
Going fishing...

Should I jump overboard????

TWO items....
TWO scarves...this was the coolest exhibit...do you see those tubes in the background....you put a scarf in the hole (where you see that lady standing) and the scarf goes through the tubes and then flies out...Luke and this little boy named Grant chased the scarves around for 30 minutes...
That's adorable...
Taking a break....
But, getting silly....:)

Eating goldfish and drinking some juice (a.k.a water)...
TWO donuts....
TWO stuffed animals...
He loved to hear these chimes make noise...notice, he is still multi-tasking...he has TWO stuffed animals in one hand while playing the chimes...

TWO toys...a toaster and a green pepper from the kitchen he just played in...

Oh my! Surprise! Only ONE block!
In awe of all the fun things to do....he is trying to decide where to go first...
TWO blocks...
THREE stuffed animals....
And, finally, a video....Luke says this sound that sounds like he is talking in Japanese....it took us forever to figure out what in the world he was saying but we think we know now....when I tickle him, I say, "Tickle, tickle, tickle" real fast....well, I think that is what he trying to say in this string of sounds....listen carefully.

Enjoy this beautiful spring weekend! :) See you next week!

Okay me and Cory just watched that video and it kind of freaked us out. Our boys do/did the EXACT same noise. Emmett is currently obsessed with it. Wow. It must be some kind of developmental thing. I doubt he picked it up from Mason the few times they've seen each other. I love that noise though, it's so cute, and with our boys it's definitely "tickle, tickle, tickle" really fast.
