Alright - so Day 2 of the potty training is going well so far. Luke had 2 small accidents this morning but has also peed in the potty several times AND he also took a stinky in the potty. It was a very small one and later he had a bigger stinky in his Pull Up but I am still proud of him!
The overall celebration here is that Luke is catching on to the concept of going to the potty very quickly. My biggest problem now is I cannot find enough big boy underwear in his size to keep them on him all day. I am having to wash the underwear frequently and in between washes, he has to wear Pull Ups, which do not have the same effect as the underwear. I ordered some underwear that should be here in a few days. After they arrive, I plan to keep big boy underwear on him all the time so he can get that feeling of not wanting to pee pee or stinky on himself.
On a little side note - besides a quick trip to Wal-Mart and a few hours at the pool, we have stayed home all weekend and it has been a blast! I purposely chose a few craft activities and games to play with Luke to pass the time together at home. We have made a bird nest (and even made some worms to feed the birds). We have made a homemade fishing rod and fish using a stick, magnets, and pipe cleaners. We made a bear that climbs a tree (out of cardboard) and have a little poem to go with it. We used a box that Luke's new push lawn mower came in to make a house. We made a door and a window and decorated it. I have SOME pictures of these things that I will post later (if I ever have time to upload my pictures). I didn't take pictures of each activity - I should have but I was so "in the moment" of playing that I didn't stop for the camera. :)
Luke has napped WONDERFUL all weekend and has gone to bed each night fairly peacefully. Overall, it has been one of the best weekends we have had in a long time and it has cost us NO MONEY, no gas mileage - just plain 'ole pure, free fun spending time together! Just a little taste of what's to come this summer! (I already have folders of homemade snacks to make, Bible study lessons, crafts, letter of the week activities, outdoor fun activities, pretend play ideas, and critical thinking/problem solving activities ready to pull out and do!)

In the meantime, here are a few more pictures of Luke in his diaper from a few weeks ago - let's all say, "Bye, Bye Diapers." :)
And...one more thing...Happy Birthday to my Dad and Landis' Dad - Donnie! We can't wait to celebrate with both Papa's tonight!
