Picture Update

Here a ton of pictures that I posted to Facebook through my cell phone but did not post on here.  

I will explain some, but some I will not....

 This is the HUGE Rudolph in my Dad's front yard....on this day, Rudolph was having some problems standing up so we had to help him....:)

 We played with sidewalk chalk in the driveway and Luke wanted me to draw him a bed so he could lay down with Minnie and Daisy - as you can see, when he sat back up, he was covered with chalk.  :)

 I took a picture of this while walking in the cemetery one afternoon...

 We used Luke's lawn mower and trailer to move pine needles from Papa's yard to our flower bed...Luke was a great helper!

 Luke got super mad at me because I wouldn't pick up that cup you see sitting in front of him so this is what he ended up looking like after a 10 minute battle of wills - as you can see, I won!  Poor fella....

Luke's Thanksgiving Feast & Playground Fun

A few weeks ago, Landis and I took some time off of work to visit Luke's school for a special Thanksgiving program in Luke's classroom and a Thanksgiving feast with all the Shady Grove preschoolers and families.  It was a special day!  We started by watching the 10 toddlers (ages 2 and 3) in Luke's classroom say the pledge of allegiance and sing Amazing Grace. It was precious!  Luke said the Pledge of Allegiance with his hands up around his mouth and his eyes closed (he looked like he was praying the whole time). Hearing those little tiny voices saying that BIG pledge was AWESOME! And, then, hearing those little tiny voices singing Amazing Grace was even more AWESOME! I found myself wiping tears from my cheeks.  I wish I could show you the video but it's on my big camera and we haven't downloaded it yet.  Here are a few pictures though....

 Saying the Pledge....

 The Amazing Grace song was really cute - it started off just like the hymn but then it broke into an upbeat version. The kids clapped and danced and twirled around.  Here is Luke clapping....

When Luke finished singing, he looked at his teacher, Ms. Lisa, and said, "I did a good job, didn't I Ms. Lisa?"  It was cute!

After the singing, we ate a pot luck dinner in the fellowship hall.  Luke was very sweet.  Me, Landis, Mammaw Carolyn, and Luke enjoyed our dinner together and the fellowship with other families. It was a wonderful morning.

After leaving the lunch, we decided to go play at the Union Cross playground for a little while. Daddy went with us too.  We had a blast!  We raced Luke up the dirt path to the playground and then we took turns going down the slides scaring each other with a BOO at the bottom.  Fun, fun times!

Here are some pictures!  (Don't you love Luke's hat???) It's my favorite....

 Union Cross has a huge dirt pile - Luke climbed to the top and said, "I'm the King of the World."  (jokingly, of course - we know who the real King is!)

 And, a trip to the park wouldn't be finished until we have one last jump into a leaf pile!  :)

It was a great day!

I hope to post some pictures of Luke's first visit with Santa from last weekend soon.  Even though Luke is very aware that Santa is pretend, he still enjoyed talking with him.  He told Santa that he wanted a Chuck Garage and a 4 Wheeler!  Oh me!  :)

Advent Christmas Bible Study

As you know, I am focusing on studying Jesus daily with Luke INSTEAD of focusing the Christmas season on Santa. I had intended on pulling out my own lessons from the Bible each day and, as you know, I did that for a few days. However, last week, my friend Lindsey shared the following Bible study that is intended for the 27 days leading up to Christmas, so, I decided to use these lessons instead of creating my own  - the 27 lessons take you all the way through the Bible - showing us God's love each step of the way.  I thought I would share it....here it is....(thanks, Lindsey, for sharing it with me)....
