Glory to God!

I just realized that those of you who only read my blog and are NOT on Facebook, you might not know that sweet baby Kate was born a week ago.

Kate Landis Bumgarner made her entrance at 6:58pm on Monday, October 21st weighing 7 lbs, 6 oz and measuring 19 1/2 inches.  She IS perfect!  Here's a post I put on Facebook this morning...

Well, I just can't hold it in anymore...the Word of God tells us to declare our testimonies...give God the glory! So...here it goes...

For months, I not only prayed for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby girl, but I talked to my Heavenly Father about many other things. I asked Him for a baby that nurses well, sleeps well, a baby that is peaceful, content, with a calm spirit. I asked my loving heavenly Father for a smooth transition for Luke - that he would adjust well and love his baby sister from the start. I asked that my body would heal quickly, that I would have a peace from Jesus as I transitioned from a Mommy of one to a Mommy of two. I asked that Landis and I would make a good team - that we would be strong together during this transitional time. Well, y'all, I'm here to let you know that God answers our prayers - He hears us and WANTS to respond, WANTS to bless us, WANTS to show us His love in such a strong way. We have to do our part and have FAITH in our prayers and BELIEVE that He hears us and WANTS good for us. Pslam 56 tells us, "This I know: God is for me." During the last 6 months, the Holy Spirit has given me a HUGE revelation of God's love for me and I am so in awe!

All of my prayers have been answered - this baby girl nurses well, sleeps well, is content with a calm spirit. Luke LOVES "his baby" with all of his heart and kisses her all the time. He's had his stinker moments but, overall, he has been GREAT! Landis and I have transitioned in a loving way - with love towards our children and love towards each other. Landis has been a true team player and I REALLY appreciate him! I have healed quickly - managed to maintain enough energy to enjoy Kate and Luke. The house doesn't stay perfect, the laundry doesn't get done quickly - but I am taking the time to kiss little faces (3 year old ones and newborn ones), squeeze my babies, and speak words of thanksgiving over them and to speak words of the expectation of continued peace in this household. I'm overwhelmed with thanksgiving this morning and I WANT to give God all the glory and thank Jesus for His sacrifice for ME, for US, for YOU! Thank you, Jesus! Oh, how YOU love us!

Friends, my prayer is that all come to know the love of Jesus and experience a true revelation of God's love for His children. In that love, we can abide and have a peace that is SO comforting. This morning, right now, His Words are upon my lips....

"I will thank Yahweh with all my heart; I will declare all Your wonderful works. I will rejoice and boast about You; I will sing about Your name, Most High." Psalm 9:1-2

Have a marvelous Monday! As for me and my house, WE WILL!

And, here's a picture of baby Kate with her big brother, Luke...

I have a blog to write that I've been working on since I was 17 weeks pregnant...it will take awhile to finish (I'm kind of busy around here), but I hope to post it in the next few weeks. Until then...thanks for stopping by...
