My Buddy, Silas

When Heather and I met several years ago, we never knew we would have those two adorable boys and that they would be buddies. Heather and I met through our husbands - Landis and Jay went to school together. Heather is a teacher so as soon as we met we had something in common. We soon found out that we had even more in common - we both loved to run! Over the years, our families have grown closer. Before the boys, Heather and I ran together A LOT! Heather, Jay, Landis, and I vacationed together - we had quite a few memorable beach trips! And, then, to make things even better, we went through pregnancy together. Luke was born in December and Silas was born in April. The boys really enjoy each other's company so we get them together as much as we can. Our favorite play date spots include - either house (mine or Heather's), the pool, gymnastics, playgrounds, and most recently, the Children's Museum in Winston. The picture above was taken at the museum on Friday night.

Heather, Jay, Landis, me, and the boys had a great time on Friday night. We all met at the Children's Museum in Winston. We had so much fun watching the boys explore and play. Then, we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. The boys did great during our 45 minute wait. They played in the rocks and in the bushes. Dinner became interesting - considering it was VERY close to bed time. Luke had one major meltdown that we were able to work through. Silas did great! The only noise he made was squealing and laughing. It was quite adorable seeing them sit in the high chairs beside of each other. I would have taken a picture but it took every ounce of my energy to keep Luke occupied. :) It is so nice to go to dinner with a family who understands what it is like to go out to eat with a toddler - anything can happen and Heather and Jay know that! :)

Thanks guys for a fun Friday night! Here's to many more family adventures and play dates...

Check out the pictures below...

The first few are pictures taken at the pool. They don't include Silas-it's next to impossible to safely take pictures with both of them running around.

These are Luke's stacking cups...he loves to play with these in and out of the pool. Luke usually takes a 10 to 15 minute goldfish break at the pool (as you can see). When Silas is with us, Silas usually joins the goldfish break too. He can chow down on some goldfish, especially the white ones. :)

This picture has a story - do you see Luke reaching? For some reason, Luke rubbed Silas' hair for a good while on Friday. It was really sweet! Then, as soon as I got out my camera, Silas walked off - from this picture, you can see that Luke is really wanting him to sit back down. :)
At the museum...

This is some intent listening....I'm not sure what this baby talk is all about, but it looks serious!

Here are some pics from a play date at my house....Silas has the popper...
Luke has the cart....
Then, together again! :)
What fun!

Stay tuned to some super cute video! I tried to post some adorable videos that I have of Luke on his new scooter and his laughing fit at dinner the other night but the blog wouldn't allow me to post those this morning. I'll try again later in the week.

My summer has OFFICIALLY begun!! No work for 2 months! :)
