Quickly (while Luke is entertained by his new favorite show...Chuck and Friends), I thought I would post some of Luke's most recent comments. You will notice that many of them are about Jesus - which I am quite proud of! We talk about and to Jesus a lot around this house so Luke picks up on this.
As we listened to Luke's Christmas songs in the car, the song "Jingle Bells" came on and I busted out singing, Luke said to me, "Mommy, the radio is for listening, not singing." I couldn't help but think....am I really that bad? :)
"Mam-mommy" - this is what Luke calls me for the first hour after I get home from work - bless his little heart, he has to switch from saying "mammaw" all day to saying "Mommy" and it often comes out as a mixture. He will grin at me when he says, "Mam-mommy." :) I go ahead and answer to it!
At night, after we read several books, I say a prayer about our day and, often times, pray about things that are affecting our family or future events that need prayer. One night last week after I finished praying, Luke said, "Mommy, what did Jesus say?" I thought that was precious!
After Luke almost ran out in front of a car at McDonald's, I was a mean Mommy for just a minute - I sternly reminded Luke of how dangerous what he just did was. Well, after hearing my lecture, he looked at me and said, "Well, Jesus will protect me." Oh me! I have some explaining to do....yes, Jesus does protect us but there are also consequences when you do DUMB things.
One day as we were laying in Luke's room getting ready for his nap, Luke said, "Mommy, I want to hug Jesus." That melted my heart as I said, "I do too and one day, we will!"
As we were driving in the car, Luke said, "Mommy, I'm going to build a ladder all the way up to the clouds and to Heaven. You can come with me and lots of other friends too." Once again, I explained, "We will go to Heaven one day, but, let's not go today." I went on to say that our purpose is to bring lots of friends to Heaven with us so keep on praying about that. :) I love where his thinking is....
Thanks for reading - see you soon with more pics! :) (If you didn't see the Hasty Carnival and BBQ Festival photos that I just posted....keep on reading!)
